Addiction to computer games is as serious as addiction to substance or alcohol, yet receives very little attention as the problem is not medically defined. I myself have been through that hell called Game Addiction and have just about managed to come out of it. Computer games appeal to a lot of people as they can be whatever they fantasize themselves to be, and is far removed from their own seemingly dull lives. I have spent hour after hour, glued to the computer screen, playing out my fantasies on screen while ignoring studies and health. I finally realized that I was headed downhill and quit it totally. Do you have any such experience or know anyone who could be suffering from such addiction?

Yup, I've been there. For a while I would spend hours and hours playing computer games. Sims was the worst for me, because each of your little people had their own little life, and it was easy to play for hours without realizing it. It got to where if I wasn't at work, I was playing. Finally I realized how much my relationship was suffering, what a mess our apartment was, and that I wasn't getting any exercise and half the time not eating. So I put the games away entirely for a bit. These days I play games sometimes, but I'm very careful about how much time I spend on them. Of course, right now I'm spending so much time on mylot that I'm not playing any games at all, but I do try to limit my time doing this as well.

There was a time I spent hours and hours playing runescape. But after a while I cut down, because it wasn't that exciting anymore.
