Turn your notify on!

Hey folks, I saw a post from Old buddy recently about turning your notify on. I wasn't even aware of this, but when you get a new friend, the notify is automatically turned to off. This means that whenever they post or create a discussion you will not be notified. That's less money for you!
If you have the notify turned on, you get notified of their activity. That means more money for you if you choose to come on and respond to them.
Did you even know about the notify part of mylot?

For me it is not really necessary to turn my notify on. I log in to mylot and then I reply to all the hottest topics which interest me. Then I am replying to all the topics that my friends started and I do not need an email for this. We can easily view the discussions that our friends started with the help of the "discussions my friends started" link of the right side. That is how I reached this post.

I knew about it, but I choose to leave notify off for most people. When I log into mylot, the first thing I do is go to "discussions my friends started" which includes discussion from all your friends, even the ones you have notify off for. So really it's not necessary to turn it on if you just check this when you come on.
The reason I choose to leave notify off is that I have important email that I need to know I received. So if I have notify on, and my whole inbox fills up with notifications from mylot, I could easily miss other emails that are vital for me to see. I know other people on mylot have mentioned the same problem in the past.

Thank you for mentioning this. I just discovered the other day when I approved you that it by default leaves the notifications off. The first few friends I had, I think it put them on. So, it's always good to check! I wouldn't have wanted to miss your posts.

hello gaian kicker, I didnt know about that notify thing but I guess I have turned it on. The day I joined mylot, mails came flooding to my email, then when I checked it these were all the responses from the discussions I made. Throught the 8 dyas I've been here on mylot it has become my habit to check the discussions my friends started and from there participate in the discussions I feel I love to answer and also I check discussions I have started and check comments and responses from my friends and then I add comments and rate those responses.

I never turn the notify on because my email inbox already becomes cowded when someone replies to a discussion that I started. When I log into mylot, the first thing that I do is check out all of my friends discussions so that I can still get the scoop on what they have to say. I know that a lot of people turn their notify on but I don't because it is too much of a hassle when you have over 100 friends who post over 20 discussions a day. I just think that it is easier to look them up after you log into mylot.

Yes I know about the notify thing, but I've decide that all the notify are turn off. I don't have a lot of friends for the moment and everytime I go on Mylot, the first thing I do is to go in my friend list and take a look at their new discussion.
I don't go everyday in my email, and I'm not 24/7 on my computer. Sometimes I even go on mylot before looking at my mails. So for me, having the notify on is not worth it.
