Best Operating system

I have requirement for a laptop with user friendliness and also usabilty which of these three would you suggest me to go for, Linux(free), Windows(xp, vista- but coslty) and Mac(very beautiful UI but very costly notebooks as compared to other x86 notebooks).Please suggest me../

I personally use Linux, it may be not that much user friendly as Windows, but is reliable. Besides, there are some very good user-friendly distributions: Mandriva (former Mandrake), OpenSuSE, Xandros and Ubuntu. IF you never used Linux before you may try Knoppix to see how it looks like without installing Linux on your computer. IF you consider it hard, then use Windows.

Ya i have tried more than 10 linux distros but the problem is that i am having a notebook and since i have used winxp and also Mac, i am confused. otherwise i would have installed SUSE. which has somewhat similar UI as that of apple. Thanks for your suggestions
