Superstitions

Superstitions are part of our life, culture, tradition etc irrespective of religion; We call ourselves educated but follow some superstitions.....
I would like to know from my friends, the superstitions that being followed, isn't it interesting.
One general superstition I know is about black cat crossing your path; we normally take few steps back and then go forward to nullify the effect of cat crossing our path. It is believed that if cat crosses, for whatever we are going, its not going to be successful.
There are many like this, May I have other from my friends...

sorry, i dont have any superstition. but hark, some beliefs seem to be superstitious, but have strong rational in it. like people say, not to drink water while standing... in fact, if you drink water standing, chances are that it goes strait into your kidneys. so you should drink water sitting. this was scientifically proved and even doctors advise it

you are right friend.. sometime we think it is superstition but it is not...
