Introspection: How often do you look inwardly?

I have found that as I grow older, I spend more and more time looking inward and examining the way I do things. Actions and responses that were, in my youth, automatic and immediate have given way to more pauses, more questioning, and less assuredness as to the absoluteness of any given opinion...and yet, paradoxically, I find that my sureness of self and my esteem have never been higher. So, does any one else find that the more one examines ones actions and feelings before responding, the better one feels?

I live in introspection. Yet it can also be crippling depending on your attitude and standpoint. If continually criticizing then introspection is painful. If however, you can keep moving forward and be strong with introspection it is very powerful. It's akin to centerdness.
The negative side of introspection can create depressive states.
But by the sounds, you're taking the positive angle, so keep on friend.
