I hate being made to feel like I'm a below standard person because i smoke. I'm a VERY considerate smoker, I don't light up when i'm around nonsmokers, I never disrespect a non smokers house. Yet when I go to a restaurant I'm ushered way back in the corner because I smoke! I hate that!...Especially when they walk you through the nonsmoking section and you see sooo many people drinking alcohol with their meal! Nonsmokers complain about second hand smoke.... well... what about drinking and then leaving that restaurant and driving? Thats much worse.............

I'm not sure if the driving/drinking thing is much worse because not necessarily everyone who drinks there drives immediately afterwards. Perhaps just because you see them drinking doesn't mean that there isn't a designated driver. But however, if they do drive under influence, I wouldn't necessarily say that it is much more than smoking, I would say the damage is equivalent because I'm pretty sure if you look at the statistics, the amount of people who die in car accidents in drinking/driving cases are about the same as people who die from smoking and second-hand smoke. I'm glad, though, that you are a considerate smoker because sometimes, there are just not enough considerate people around. But living in a place where majority rules, you have to deal with the fact that once in a while you have to be degraded because of smoking.

Consider yourself lucky you even have a smoking section to sit in. Where I live there is no smoking allowed inside of any public place whatsoever. All smokers are relegated to the outdoors and not within so many feet of the door so that non-smokers don't have to walk through it to get where they're going. As a non-smoker, I love being able to go to a bar or restaurant now and not come home reeking of smoke.
