Some of the greatest Racehorses from the UK

Just been sat looking through some of thoe old racing books,, think the greatst two racehorses to hit the track in my life time has to be Desert Orchid and Red Rum! Wow speak of being timeless classics of the racecourse.
If you was to have a favourite over the years you have loved horse racing which would be your favourite horse?

I love horses from when I was a child.
One of my grandfathers had horses and I loved riding and taking care of them. But I never bet on horses because the racecourse is far away from my city and I couldn't go to it.
I hope that one day I could buy at least one horse.

To be honest I've never had any interest in racehorses, until a lovely friend of mine Shelley who had pictures of Desert Orchid all over her home, she was a lovely girl and she always called him Dessie! When I think of that name it always reminds me of her! She loved that horse dearly and I guess it did rub off on me, slightly, I never admitted it to her at the time tho' I'm not a softie! But she was over Dessie!

Think a lot of us fondly will remember him as Dessie! What a charicter too He certainly loved his public too! When ever he was out he always seemed to like to look towards where people where.
