I have watched the OC since the first day it aired I can not believe they are taking it off the air and I hate the fact that so many people are saying that the ratings went dwn because of Mirissa being killed off I don't believe that is why the ratings went down I believe that they lost the ratings because they quit making great story lines they completely changed the OC this season its like they were trying to get it cancelled

I'm also a huge fan of the OC and hate that it's being canceled. I actually think that this season was good comapred to the last couple of seasons. It seems that ever since the 2nd season the storyline has gone downhill a little and I think that's why its being canceled.

I absolutely love this show, and I still cant believe it is cancelled. Tonight is the last episode ever. :( I do believe the storyline was stronger in the beginning, but it is one of those shows like 90210 used to be. They started in highschool and as the main characters grew up, they grew out of the show. Yes, they could follow them on to college, but then it would no longer be based in Newport, which defeats a main theme of the show. I guess ending the series is really the only choice they had, although it saddens me. I guess we can all purchase it on DVD and watch it over and over again!! :)

the oc was my favorite serie, but killing marissa at the end of the 3th season makes me think to stop watching. but when i re-start to watch i like it, specially the lasts episods. could has marissa at the end of the serie, but katlyan was good to. i prefer think if the serie continues it was not to good. like this, ending only with 4 season, if was make me miss this.

I am so sad that it is over - I would have loved to see it go on. I have heard that another channel is planning to take over the show - or atleast that was an issue a month back!

im not yet done with my oc dvd marathons. but my friends have been talking bout how the season ended so i checked it out myself. and yes, i spoiled myself just to catch up with what the final episode was all about. i was shocked to learn that marissa was killed in the 3rd season. yep, and i agree that the four of them (marissa, ryan, summer and seth) ahve good chemistry on screen. in the first episode, they all played well together. its like OC can revolve even with only the four of them.
with marissa out, the cast was baddly crippled. and maybe the fans were really disappointed bout how the story ended for marissa so, they prolly stop watching the show, since it will be worthless without marisssa there.
o well, so sad oc's not on the air anymore. i guess, i;ll be back to wathcing all the missed out episodes and see, how the series got it all down the drain. :(

I really disagree with this, i stronglyfeel that is why the ratings dropped. When Marissa was killed off it killed a little part of me, i couldnt believe it. The whole ppoint of the show was the focus on Ryan and Marissa, it would have been like killing off Tapanga in boy meets world

I find it annoying as well when people attribute the cancellation of the show wholly on Mischa Barton leaving. I'm not saying that it didn't, because while I'm not as much of a Ryan/Marissa fan as I am a Seth/Summer one, I think that the four of them really just had the chemistry we see onscreen. So when she left, you could really sense that something (or someone) was missing, and they weren't really able to fill that gap. But aside from Mischa leaving the show, I personally think that in the fourth season, the plot went downhill. After the first few episodes, there just didn't really seem to be a plot anymore and it wasn't as engaging or funny (when intended) as it was anymore. They seemed to be trying too hard to be dramatic, and it just wasn't working anymore. I think that's one of the reasons why they got cancelled.
I still watched the show though because I was expecting it to pick up maybe about mid-season, but it never really did. Sadly enough. Even I was left mostly disappointed with the last two episodes because it seemed too stereotypical and predictable. But having said that, I guess it was still a good thing though because in the end, we all want the characters in the show to have their mini-happy endings, and they did get that.
I've been such a big fan of this show ever since the first season and amidst the disappointment on the show finale (I just think they could've executed it better), I was still really sad while watching it. I'll miss it for sure. :(
