Does Marriage depend on just understanding & adjusting??

Love & arranged marriage....one has different views regarding this but it makes me feel that whatever it might be finally Marriage does depend on understanding & adjusting. Until you get married and live together it's difficult to know each other well, even in case of love marriage. What do you feel??
