Ok imagine this scenario you are from another planet, an alien race and you come across Earth. You study humans, their behaviour, their thoughts, the way they live on Earth.
Would you attack Earth and take it over so that your race could conquer and defeat and live on earth?
Would you get as far away as Earth as possible fearing that your race would be contaminated by man's lust for greed, wars and hatred?
Would you meet the humans and try to integrate? Knowing that because you are different you will be treated with contempt, suspicion and probably be wiped out by humans for being different
What are your thoughts, if you were an alien what would be your choice and why?

Right at the moment I would get to a safe place and watch the carnage. Why would any one want to destroy us when we seem to be doing a pretty good job of it all by ourselves. It is a shame that in today's world we haven't found a way to get along.

If I was an alien I would infiltrate the American government and wipe out all the neo-conservatives that are trying to take over the world.
I would then use my wisdom to bring peace to the earth by syphoning out excess testosterone from male babies, so they would not have the desire to fight and kill when they grew up. LOL
Then just before I returned to my own planet I would turn everyone into a socialist!!!!!

If I was an alien and visited this planet .. I'd soon be off at warp speed .. havre you seen what we are doing to this once fair blue planet .. we are filling it with junk, piling mega tons of radioactive materials into big holes, choking the life out of the seas and killing each other whole sale ...
Now why on earth (no pun intended) would any extra terrestrial want to bother with us .. we are going to kill ourselves off in the not to distant future if we don't stop polluting Planet Earth .. and let's face it we are such a 'nasty warring' breed that they just wouldn't risk making a landing ..

Probably we are to them as stoneage as the flintstones cartoon...lol So I would be watching with amazement from my ship. Then I would call all my buddies to come watch too.(ufo sightings) Next thing you know I've found the next greatest form of entertainment. Heck we would probably have expedition vacations, living amongst them incognito for the pleasure of a stone age vacation..lol Oh I'm sure some of the big wigs would have to experiment on a few of them.(abductions) And they would be checking out the wildlife. (cattle mutilations) We would probably leave a little graffiti now and again (crop circles)when the mood struck. And of course we would probably make some friends along the way and visit them (close encounters)occaisionally. But for the most part what would they really have to offer us Aliens?

Well that's an interesting question. Truth to tell, I would get as far away as possible, - just run away, and not look back. Any alien appearing here would either be imprisoned, questioned, forced to undergo various "tests", or perhaps even slaughtered. This world is full of so many ugly things, and I am sure their world is better, - so I definately wouldn't hang around here!

I would stay away from Earth. It wouldn't be worth my time. Why would I want to conquer it? There really isn't anything here for a species that can travle through space as good as me. I wouldn't want to be integrated into the human race because it is basically killing itself off. If there was something I really wanted from the Earth i would just come back in a few hundred years and humans would be gone by then and I wouldn't have to lift a finger, tenticle or whatever I have.

If I were an alien studying planet Earth I think that I would have certinly understood by now that their actions, morality and interactions would lead them to their distruction. So why wage war against them knowing that time would solve that problem? I would just wait until they have destroyed themselves and them replace them, it's a petty for this planet to be unhabitted :)

After spending the day watching the 3-ring circus in the courtroom today about Anna Nicole's body, I would have to say that if I were an alien I would think that Earth was a pretty amusing place to be and I would want to stay for the entertainment factor. If the humans got too out of hand, I would leave and go back home; there's no point in trying to integrate into a world and be accepted where no one else has been successful if they were different. It's not worth fighting over if you have another, happier place to be.

Of course, it depends on my race's situation - do we _need_ a place to live, and is Earth an ideal choice? But if I were on a 'contact' mission rather than a 'colonizing' mission, I'd contact Earth with a message along the lines of this:
Hi, we're out here. We have lots of great technology that we could share with you but you all need to get your act together -- stop killing each other, stop pillaging your planet and irreparably damaging your environment. We'll be back in 10 years. If you've made enough progress, we'll give you XYZ technology (something really useful but not destructive).
I'd make sure all nations got the message, probably through the UN. Then I'd watch what happened over the next 10 years.

Well they would obviously be far more intelligent than we are and as such i'm sure they would wonder why we had not made any progress in living together in peace and were in the process of killing and destroying our beautiful world!
Then they would look at how innocent we are at birth and see we weren't a lost cause and perhaps we could be saved and money was the problem!
I would like to believe they had a better way of life and could show us how to live together in harmony.

With such beautiful thing to see, places to visit and things to do on earth why would someone try to destroy it.
But if aliens land on earth, even if they came in peace, Humans are always afraid of what they don't understand. Humans would probably destroy the aliens, before they have the chance to destroy us.
