It would have been the groom....;-)
No mail order at all! Just met through a so called matching site, emailed for a week or two (4 or 5 times a day/night) phoned a couple of times and then we met, and it was: BANG! and we live happily ever after.... so far... 7,5 years going on 8. Feel at ease with im, and have fun with him. It's GOOD......

I have met a small group of online friends a while ago. I used to write on dooyoo (an opinion site) and a group of us who lived within a reasonable distance of each other decided to meet up.
I was a weird experience, weird in a nice way though, all those people I have communicated through the keyboard, seeing them and talking in person was strange but an enjoyable experience all the same. We met in a pub a couple of times, then went and got a Chinese take-away and all got to know each other a little better.
It was great fun! Something I can see myself doing again in the future.

it is nice to meet people from further a field and not just people who are very local to you as you have done, i myself goto car meetings nowadays which are sometimes over 200 miles away but its something to do and meet new people and of course people ive talked with online

yerah you have the right idea there thats how it should be really but not always the case, most of the meetings ive been to have been good and had a good time there but u get the odd one or 2 that are not so good and you sometimes get the odd person who likes to be centre of attention and spoils it for the rest of them.

i did several times, and they're all unpleasant. I don't regret one bit that I did it. It's high time I look out into the real world.

depends what sort of people they are i guess, i mean i have met some people who are totaly different in real life compared to what they are like online, sometimes for the worse sometimes for the better. i suppose it depends what sort of group or chatroom or forum it is too.

its usually quite easy one person says right lets meet up as a chatroom meet, they give a date a time and a place then you just spread the word in the chatroom and thats all you do theres no special way of doing it but it helps if your known in there by a few people atleast so they can spread the word too.

I have a friend who does this sometimes. She always take one of her cousins because she is afraid of meeting boys alone.
She even dated one boy she met in a chat room, but I think he was more interested in her money then anything else.
I personally never met someone from the internet.Maybe because a never participated that much on chat room.

Yes, I have personally met many people from the Internet. I am a member of several local forum sites, and at least once a year, we have get-togethers or what we call eye ball. I go to these events so I could meet the people with whom I share the same interests. Back in college, I also attended eye balls arranged by moderators of chat rooms. I became friends with some of the chatters that I met during these occasions.

Yeap, that's how we met a lot of the homeschooling families in the area. Oddly enough, it's also where I make contacts with other tattoo artists in my area. Most of them are freelance people who don't work at a specific shop or location but will rent booth space for a couple of weeks if they have a lot of clients to work on.

that is how it was years ago people only met new people by being penpals and they talk via letters but as we all know a lot of people have the internet now so it makes it easier for people to comunicate with people accross the world. modern technology is a godsent to some people.

Oh My Word!!! Would you believe it...I also met a couple of fellow myLotians today.
Funnily enough Jimbo we were meant to meet at one but everyone turned up half an hour early. It was really good to meet them, lovely couple so easy to just sit and chat with, this was a first but not the last I think.

I met a guy on MySpace who was my age and actually lived just up the road from me. Turned out we'd gone to the same college but hadn't actually met at the time! Anyway after a few weeks of chatting on MySpace I arranged to meet him in the pub near where we live and I took a few mates with me. We're now good friends, but still chat on MySpace as well occasionally!

Oh yes, I've met many people from online; individuals, couples, and groups. I have met many friends this way. I've even gone camping with a group of friends from online. The internet has brought a few weirdo creepy people too, but that's why I don't go to meet people alone.

Yes, I have met many people on the internet. Initially, both are a bit hesitant. But, after some time, we get to know the thinking and the interests. And once we start talking, that is just the beginning of a new friendship. It is a lovely experience to get to know new people and keep in touch with them.

I have actually met a few people that I met online. I'm very cautious though, because what someone says online is not necessarily what they mean in real life. When you're online, you can say whatever you like, and get away with it because nobody will ever know the difference.
There are men in particular (sorry guys!) who prey on that knowledge, and make themselves out to be this wonderful person, when really they could turn out to be this overweight man in a string vest. You just never know.
I won't meet someone unless I've spoken to them on the phone and seen them on webcam. That way i know what to expect, and what they sound like. I never go to meet them on my own either. I always take my partner with me. It's our unspoken agreement and one we're both comfortable with.
