I always use the same user name in other programs, forums and networking communities.
The reason being you can be recognised from one program to the other.
Recognision goes along way to building a good reputation and people will respond to you more.
Do you use the same user name for other programs?

Yes exactly ...I always use the same name and have always used he same profile picture as well ... people might not always remember a name but they do reconizes your picture...I have just joined a new site hashbush and I tried a different avatar ...I am curious to see what happens ... I have several friends there from other sites and they have found me already so they remembered my name ...so that was a plus ...

For the most part, I do use the same name for the other sites that I use to make money or chat online with or other programs. Sometimes I have had to make it somewhat different due to the number of character limits. It is easier to keep the same name as possible and as you mentioned, you can build a better reputation that way as well.

Yes, I have used the same username I use here on other program and messageboards. It is a username that is unique and noone else seems to have. But I change all my passwords.

My user name is usually the same for all my programs. My trouble4u2avoid is only used ocassionally. Most programms I use my parr1450 id.
Besides building a name/reputation for yourself, it makes life a whole lot easier. I am a member of a ton of programs, I think I would be completely lost if I had too many user ids.

I guess that's one way to look at it. Much easier for you to remember also. In this day and age one has to have a little black book of ID's and passwords for the computer!

Long time jan135.
I have missed your discussions. =)
I mainly use my name for sites which I belong too but I don't actually use any other paid services because I'm not greatly into them. I am starting a project to support people though, so if you have any knowledge I'd appreciate your input.
Kind regards,
~Joey

Yes, I use my username in other website and other program. It is hard to maintain another username.

Just like you, I too make it a point to use the same username everywhere. It is easy to remember. There is no reason why should put diferent username in differnt programmes. I know pople lose their names and password as they dont rememebr what they used for which programme. It could really become a mess.

Yes, i do use the same username in forums and other sites. I also have a livejournal, multiply, and blogger accounts with the same username. I agree that it's easier to be recognised with the same username and i like the idea that i can go anywhere in the internet, meet the same people who i've known from other sites. It's like having my own identity in the web. =)

Well it depends Jan. Usually I just use Rosie (without the suffix), and if any site wants me to add numbers for their systems, I add the _123. However, sometimes I contribute to Forums in other languages, so then I use different ones, which are perhaps easier for the people I talk to there.

I'll reuse Usernames occasionally..but I dislike to do it. I prefer to use something different everytime, or constantly change it if at all possible.
I hate feeling unoriginal. And I dislike repeating myself.

Yes I try to use the same user name on every site. It helps so I don't have to worry about forgetting what name I signed up under.
