How far do you think people on Earth will go before they realize that global warming is a rapidly growing danger in todays world? Do you think that there needs to be a few more natural disasters before we come to our senses and become more environmentally friendly?

News Cast on weather shows most tropical depression and rainfall causes natural disaster every where. The Philippines was hit by a typhoon as strong as Hurricane Katrina. Imagine the amount of water, flash flood. Thousand of people are buried in the mud flow.

I think we really might need a few more natural disasters, but I hope not. I think maybe the best way to get people to make changes is to convince them to do things that will save money, like using compact fluorescent light bulbs instead of incandescent ones. The light bulbs themselves are more expensive, but they last longer and you will save on energy bills. Making your home energy efficient in other ways also helps save money. I hate to say that, but saving money is a benefit people can see right away, whereas preserving the environment is more abstract.
I do think people are getting more concerned about it, though. Remember chlorofluorocarbons? Consumers stopped using aerosol products because they contributed to the hole in the ozone layer, so manufacturers got rid of products that contained the CFCs. If consumers demand electric or biodiesel cars, etc., the market will respond.
