was it exactly copied word for word? maybe someone just posted a new topic without checking or it never did show us used already especially if it was long buried with the old ones. There are really times when it is unintentionally done and no matter how many searches it never shows until it has been posted.

No it wasnt copied word by word rather tittle was copied as wellthe content. You can check it yourself. May be I overreacted but thats the way I felt.

i have done this myself and I have felt really bad I was going to go and apologize to the person . I did it unknowingly . I now check with the mylot search option before I make new discussions to avoid this. I see the same discussion posted over more then once a lot on here. I think that more people should be checking before they start their post.

I know there are many discussion which are repeatedly come at mylot and its annoying. I do give benefit of doubt to people who might have not checked the if that subject has taken care or not. But there are some exclusive subjects which have very low probabilty of getting repeated unless some one has hijacked the subject and repackage it. I was refering to such incidents.

If you feel someone has intentionally "stolen" a discussion from you,you can give the new one a negative mark and explain to MyLot what you believe. If anyone gets a few negatives,MyLot will take a closer look at their history and act accordingly.
Some people say impersonation is a form of flattery but IF someone outright steals from another on MyLot(and hopefully everywhere else),then it should be brought to the attention of MyLot reps.

I know its not possible to discourage stealing but it feels bad when original discussion is ripped.

If your discussion was copied you can report it (!) go to that discussion and hit the report button and put a link in to your original discussion to show where it was copied from.
myLot will take action - sometimes it seems like it takes awhile but they do do it - copying discussions of others it against the terms of myLot

Maybe they didn't know they were duplicating. How can someone know? Is there a way? That sucks if they knew what they were doing.

In mylot the people always stole discussions. That is just normal for that web site.
