Do you like the idea of having a solo violinist play your wedding music?

I think that it creates a really classy and romantic atmosphere (although I plan on going for a cellist for my wedding). What kind of music do you want for your wedding?

that does sound like it would be very romantic. We had a bagpipe player to pipe me down the aisle and pipe us out (i say aisle but it was actually outside) anyways i absolutly love the bag pipes so it was perfect for us but the violin would definetly be lovely to have as well

Bagpipes are beautiful. If I was having a Celtic themed wedding, I'd definitely have bagpipes.

The sound of the violin can be very romantic and elegant at a wedding. I personally wanted that really whole and put together sound so at our wedding, we had a 12 piece orchestra to play at the wedding ceremony and reception. I believe 4 of the 12 were violins and during my bridal march, I cant help but really just feel the music filling the church with all the emotions that a wedding brings. I wanted classical music, some classic pop and even some themes from movies at my wedding, for my bridal march, I had the instrumental version of the After All song played (Cher and Peter Cetera) but it was instrumental so it was so touching. Then at the reception, we had the theme from the Father of the Bride movie played during our entrance. :)

That sounds beautiful. I'll sure as heck never be able to afford a twelve-piece orchestra. I'll be lucky if I can afford to have twelve guests.

Harp - What would be more romantic than having a harp played on your wedding day?
I very much like the idea of a solo violinist playing at my wedding, how romantic would that be!!?? The idea of any musical instrument being played at my wedding sounds nice, I think I'd choose the harp above anything else. What would make it even better is having someone sing along with the instrument

If I could REALLY have what I wanted...I'd have my cellist, but accompanied by a harpist. Problem is, I don't have any friends who play the harp, and harpists are notoriously expensive (and snooty!).

I think it would be pretty, although I really like string quartets. I'm pretty biased though cause I'm a viola major and play tons of wedding quartets, haha. I think a cellist will be gorgeous for your wedding too! I've always loved cello too :)

How do you go about getting into a quartet that does weddings? Or did it just form in your music department at college or something? I'd love to get into something like that (I play violin and viola), but I don't have the connections.

Yes and I personaly like one violinist the best her name is Angele Dubeau. I just love listening to violin solo's becuase they are mellow and just let you go off to a happy place. I also think they help becuase work, I am a big Rock and Roll lover but when I'm depressed or in a bad mood. Angele Dubeau brings me out of it with her wonderful music. Violin's are one of the most beautiful sounding instrument there is and I am thinking about putting a violinist in my wedding as well. Just becuase it is so beautiful and it's better than having a DJ at our wedding dance.

Ooooh yeah definatly. Make sure it's a guy though, not trying to be sexist or anything. Guys look more classiyish and are more wedding oriented when it comes to solo violin. I would know being a vilolinst. Well good luck with the wedding hope it goes well =D

I'm a violinist as well...and having played at a few weddings myself, I have to say that a female violinist looks just as good. :-)

I think that is a great idea. But I don't care for a violinist, so I would choose the harp or a cellist. Those are very romantic too, don't you think?

Violin creates good sound, they say that violin is one of the most important musical string intrument. I think I have to go for Mariachi's, I want to hear three of them making memorable music while I wait for my wife-to-be walking at the aisle, with her father and my father-in-law-to-be escorting her!;) Then after the ceremony, I would request for them to serenade us with some of their songs whenever they celebrate weddings..
