Cataract is a clouding of lens of the eye that affects vision. It is very common in older people.
Early cataract may be improved by -
1.new eye glassess,brighter lighting,anti-glare sunglassess,or magnifying lens.
2.if this measures do not help surgery is the only effective method.it involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with an artificial lens
two types of cataract surgery -
a.PHACOEMULSIFICATION OR "SMALL INCISION CATARCT SURGERY"
b.EXTRACAPSULAR SURGERY-LONGER INCISION ON SIDE OF CORNEA.

Cataract cannot be improved by new eye glasses, brighter lighting,anti-glare sun glasses,or magnifying lens. The procedures you have mentioned are all for improving vision and not for improving cataract. If there is any secondary cause of cataract formation and you treat it such as in case of diabetes mellitus, it can be regressed to some extent so long it is in the reversible stage but as soon as it reaches the irreversible stage, there is no cure unless you go for a lens extraction.

Cataract is now a highly remediable kind of eye illness. What one has to do, will be to go to a qualified eye doctor to underatake the necessary tests and do the proper remedies. EENTs are capable of undertaking the procedure.
