Favoritism

Do you think you're the favorite of your parents? Or your sibling is the favorite of your parents? I've always asked this questions. I won't deny the fact that there are so many instances that I feel that there's really favoritism in the family. It sucks but that's how I feel sometimes.

When I was growing up I always felt that my older sister was mum's favourite and my younger sister was dad's. Being a middle child I often felt like I was being overlooked. I can remember one time when I was about 10 that everyone had forgotten my birthday and I was in tears over it. A few years ago we were talking about such things and dad said that he agreed with me. He had in fact favoured my younger sister as when we were babies she preferred going to him than mum, and her first word was dad. Where the opposite was true of me and my older sister. A 25 yo can intellectually understand that, but a child cannot and it doesn't really make how I felt as a child any better.

no not of my mom. the favorite is the next to oldest. she gets everything she wants and always has. i'm the only child my dad has but i'm still not a favorite. with my grandparents and great grandparents i'm the favorite. they spoiled me when i was younger because i didn't have a real dad like my sisters, my mom didn't treat me right as far as favorites goes. she always acted like i was the one that did everything bad in the house.

I am absolutly the favorite. But my parents can't help it, I'm smart, I work hard, I did well in school. It doesn't hurt my chances that I'm an only child, too. :-)
