In my experience, not all survey sites are bad.
I signed up two sites without paying any fee to join, simpily just fill out the requested info. Then, from time to time they will send me email to fill out the survey. The survey pay range from $2 - $10, base on their target.
But, one thing, they pay a month later.

The site name is call myview.com.
But, as I just checked, there isn't any sign up page.
In the FAQ, as they stated, now it's only by invitation by panel. I've sent an email to customer service and check how to apply. Will keep you update once I got reply back.

I do not know if the particular survey site you joined is a scam or not,but I do belong to a few surveys sites that have paid me and a few that did not.The ones that offer you chances to win in a draw I do not do.You can find out about the survey sites you have joined/thinking of joining by askin people about that particular site or going online and looking upo the company/program.

Two that have paid me are GlobalTestmarket.com and Pinecone Research.Global awards you points ranging from 5 to 100 points and you can trade them when you reach 1000 for a $10 check. With Pinecone,I receive $5 for every survey I do and they range fro less than 1 minute up to 10 minutes.

I could definitely tell you one you should not sign up for, but I better not name it on here. This one I accidentally bought twice (as if I have money coming out of my ears :0) and although they say they have a 60 day money back guarantee, I've been waiting since November for a refund.

I recently joined slash my search but I always encountered technical difficulties there. I noticed that I've been receiving lots of emails about online money making. I think slash my search works by viewing what activity is going on in your computer then send emails to you about their affiliate sites. I'm not very sure about it. But I'm not very comfortable with it. So I decided to opt out from slash my search. I am still awaiting the much talked about agloco site. I will try to see how it works.

While most of the survey sites out there are fake, there are a few that are real (I've been paid by some of them). Unfortunately, such sites are mostly geared towards Americans and so unless you gain a lot of referrals, it will be tough to make anything off of them.
