Help me book my vacation!

I am at a loss of what to do, to the point where any descision I seem to make sends me backwards through the descision making process. My boyfriend and I want to go "abroad" (Europe, Asia, or South America) for 1 week in the beginning of August. I looked into booking flights seperately, but they're just too expensive. Vacation packages are expensive too, but I think this is the best way to go. We want to spend no more than $3000 for flights and hotels. Cruises are also a possibility, but most of these are not within our budget. Help me find the best deal! I've been searching around virgin-vacations.com, but think there must be a better website for deals out there???
