Could Pakistan & India be friends

I guess they can but I don't think the politicians of the two countries can allow this to happen. The reason behind this is that there is a lot of vote bank for the politicians from these eight years and the would not let them go away. But I don't see any other reason for the two people to unite. If we asked the common people they never want such problems. They want unity. They can be two countries but the cultural and a lot of things are similar. It is just the religion which is different. So if the common people can take the initiative and then no one can stop this from happening not even the politicians. And I think if this can happen than me can save a lot of lives which are wasted because of bad politics on the line of control.

ofcourse India and pakistan can be friends. They already are in other parts of the world. It is just the politicians who create these misnomers of animosity. If the people of india and pakistan choose to then they can break all barriers and overcome the limits set by politicians.

May be not because our politics will never be done this friendship properly.

I'm not sure of you're Indian or Pakistani, but the main issue seems to be the religions of Islam and Hinduism having a history of hatred toward each other. Complicating this is Islam's frictions with the West in general. I was very disappointed when I saw a news story in which a class full of sharp, uniformed Pakistani students in Lahore bragging about how great Osama bin Laden was. Sure, that gets high ratings at home, but if that is the attitude of mainstream, affluent Pakistanis, what hope is there? These kids won't get any support from Hindu-dominated India, and they sure won't gain a fan base in America. People should watch what they say while being videotaped or televised.
