Real Time OS is one which should complete the given task with in the specified time.i.e.It should not cross time limit allocated to it. There are two types of RTOS.They are Hard RealTime and Soft RealTime OS. Hard RTOS should not cross time limit.But in case of Soft RTOS crossing of time limit is allowed some times.But not always.

yap that's correct. In Hard Real Time "Late answer is wrong answer" and in Soft Real Time " Late answer is may be correct depend up on the application"
