I have been habituated to sending SMS's on a daily basis everyday morning to my near & dear one & friends, either from my cell or from the chating softwares, that allow free SMS's.
Recently, as I was not well and had no balance on my cell, was not able to to so. On the first day, one friends called me up and asked me the reason for no sending the message. On the second day, two did so and third day the count went up to ten.
I was surprised and was happy for the fact that people wait for my SMS.
Do you send SMS regularly? How frequently? Are they casual SMS or business-related SMS or MMS?

yes, i send regular messages to friends and siblings. that is my compulsion, i just cannot do without it. however, most of the times they remain unreciprocated, still i should have to have this thing going. and you are right that when i stop, hoardes of calls come in and i love the way they convey their anxiety. some things in life we take for granted and my SMS is one of them for my friends.
i hardly do business SMSs, except for the days when i can't attend my job for some silly (?) reasons, like, i have to escort my doggy to vet or i am having allergies all over my body. then, i would message him and he would call me back immediately. he is a darling.
thanx for an interesting post, keep sharing..
* i use my cell phone, YM (free), globe 7 (Free) and sometimes skype (Free) to send messages.

well.. i'm really a fan of SMSs.. most of the time i would call someone up.. it's comforting for me to hear their voices cos i am able to visualize what their current emotion.. for me SMSs, feel cold and sometimes people can misinterprate what i wrote.. recently my friend was mad at me for no reason.. cos she misunderstood what i wrote.. another reason, i'm really slow at typing message on my phone.. i recently just bought a new phone so currently i'm trying to familiarize myself with it's function.
most of the SMSs i send have something to do with my assignments, group discussion and casual ones. the most SMSs i would send per day would be less than 10. more of a talker than a SMSs sender
