Obviously vista is a good operating system as windows have been working on it for a long time. I have cheated and downloaded a vista skin for my windows xp , so it looks the same =. The graphic quality on windows vista is out of this world the most basic of icons are in a 3d format.

you can't just copy the interface of vista, except for the basic edition, since it features Aero that uses Direct X instead of GDI to render the GUI

actually, vista really is a step above windows XP not just on the looks side(courtesy of the new Aero Interface) but of course in the general usage of the computer. the two most important features of vista are the superfetch and readyboost. the former tracks and recognizes the pattern upon which you use the computer and pre-caches those programs to the memory for faster start-up times. the latter meanwhile tries to increase system responsiveness by utilizing flash-disks inserted to the pc and using it as a ram. sort of a new kind of virtual memory. flash memory is really a good choice since it is cheap and access times are almost null, which more than makes up for its slow bandwidth.

The Windows Vista operating system is very good and user friendly. It is also very attractive than the previous versions of Windows. But it requires high speed processor and large amount of RAM.It requires high system configuration. It is very fast than the previous versions too.It also provides many inbuilt softwares like yahoo messenger and MS office. It is very nice.

uh, Vista will run on your computer but barely. 512mb is quite cramped for Vista so if you want to maximize your experience, you must get more Ram

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.
