Feeling sick or ill

Someone told me one day: ''Do not always feel sick, because you'll be then really really physically sick!'' What do you think? Is there any correlation between real physical sickness and a sort of psychological self suggestion?

Human mind has great control over the body and if one thinks negative and over period of time it becomes a reality. LOt of people are able to overcome serious problems with very strong and postive mind set.

I definitely agree with the concept of self suggestion. I often use this in the opposite. If I am starting to feel sick I continue to tell myself that I am not getting sick, and I usually can fight my cold much better. If I have an attitude that I am so sick, then I usually feel worse. I strongly believe in mind over matter. Not to the extreme that I wouldn't go to the doctor if needed. But I usually try to carry on with my activities if I can and not dwell on the negative of being sick and this usually helps me to heal faster.

I think what youa re saying is so right. I think you can convince yourself that you are sick and you will physically be sick. I remember I used to fake ebing ill and then I would realy be ill. I think alot of sickness can be put down to peoples mental state and it is something people should really consider. It is a weird topic though and I wish I had som much more to say on it but you do really have to be a psychologist.

Thank you for the respond. I think, to me, it is a matter of appreciation of experiences of life, ours and someone else's. Practically, not "touching" others unreasonably, otherwise try to help others if possible. Thank you again and have a nice day.
