Did you realise Sudoku, in spite of its name, didn't start in Japan? It was invented by an American and was called 'Number Place', made its way to Japan eventually, where it got its current name and became immensely popular (the Japanese language doesn't allow its speakers to do crosswords, nor does Chinese), and then suddenly took off worldwide in 2005, after a retired New Zealand judge created a computer program to make it easy to generate the puzzle.

Its the new trend in my country too. But still i did not have a chance to do one, even though I love puzzles. I must start from a beginners one soon. So you think its relaxing huh? I have heard that its a puzzle with a lot of logic.

I've been doing Sudoku for over a year, and still enjoy it. Not quite so addicted to it as I was at first, but I'm certainly better at it, now. Biggest trouble I have with it is spelling it properly...as I suspect you do too!

I have a Sudoku puzzle book and they rate some of the puzzles harder than others but I've found that they're all the same. They all have the same exact technique to figuring them out and it's not really challenging to me, it's more like a cancellation process of numbers! I don't understand how one doesn't get tired of doing the same thing over and over again! I liked it at first before I figured out the trick! I guess it's just relaxing but once you've figured out how to solve them then they're all the same. I dunno...maybe it's just me!

You know, I used to like it. But, I've gotten so busy that I don't have time to do them any more.

I have tried playing Suduko and it nearly drove me mad. I bought the books and an electronic game and I even tried playing on the computer. Whenever I thought I had the solution, I would notice that some of my numbers were wrong. I think I will stick with scrabble. It's much easier.

It is very interesting and addictive too (more than mylot). It is a magic with numbers 1-9. Hats off to the inventor. Is there any site that we can play suduko online.

I have to agree with you about that. I just saw an add for zango.com, but haven't tried it out yet. I like to print-out the puzzles and work it on the go and I've found a website that's free. http://www.sudoku-printable.com and another one is http://www.sudukotoday.com/easy-sudoku-puzzles.html
