A Child Called It is the first in a series of three books about child abuse. The horrible things this mother did to her son are beyond imagination. The father could have stepped in and saved his son, but instead did nothing. There are also two other books in this series. The other books are The Lost Boy, and A Man Named Dave.
I would like to know who has read these books, and what you thought of them. Did you read one, two, or all three of them? Can you imagine someone actually doing this to their own child? How could the father stand back and do nothing?

ive read the first book and when i was done reading it, i made me wanna go after the mother and beat her up myself! and if i was her husband i would have stood up to her or even worse beat the crap out of her for beating my kid! im just surprised that the father didnt do anything to the wife or even help out his own flesh and blood! this book just makes me feel sick and angry to see that there are actually people doing this to their own kids and no one is saying anything! i honelstly feel davids pain!

Yes I have read the book and found it to be a very powerful, potent and profound book, it was horrific what he went through under the tyranny of his mother and yet he walked away without bearing a grudge and he became a success! Now if that isn't a remarkable story that makes you think. Yes I agree how can someone do this to their own flesh and blood it makes you feel sick and go cold inside. A lot of other people would have been in an asylum now, definitely a fantastic book which I highly recommend, certainly puts your own life in a different perspective.

I will never understand how anyone could do this to another person, especially their own child, but for him to turn his life around and tell his story is truly amazing. You are right; it definitely does put our lives in a different perspective. Thanks for your response.
