According to National Geographic, scientists have settled the old distpute over which came first, the chicken or egg. They say that reptiles were laying eggs thousands of years before chicken appeared, and the first chicken came from an egg laid by a bird that was not quite a chicken. That seems to answer the question. So therefore the egg came first. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for this post. I well remember when I asked my girlfriend this same old question and I was surprised with her answer. Surprised in a way that she got the same thoughts as mine on this, and I didn't really expect her to think that way. She just smiled at me and said "dunno" at first, but after a few seconds he told me that for her it was the "chicken". Then I asked her why she thought so. And then there she was starting her biblical explanation, telling me that when God created the world there were already grown up pairs of animals ready and able to reproduce to increase their numbers. She also kid me around and told me that when Noah finished the Arch God wanted him to make, she can't imagine eggs of chicken can crawling up the arch just like the other pairs of animals before the heavy rains which lasted for 40 days and nights. Oh well, I just loved how she delivered her answer on that question.

This is pretty much the same response I always gave to all the chcken or egg discussions that get posted here.
