How do u upload photos on my Lot

I was reffered to this site by a sister she brag's and brag's it's a great site to be but since i have been in here it will not let me put a avatar photo or anything of the sort and in return I am getting very annoyed with the fact that it doesn't allow me to do anything I want it to do....So if anyone can inform me on how to get around my Lot better plssss do...Thanxs much appreciated
