It totally depends on what kind of experiments you want to do...meaning objective of your experiment and also that you have to choose the healthiest rat of all and keep it safe in normal place to observe the reactions...

I use simvastatin to treatment atherosclerosis.the method
I choose is intragastric.the dose to human known.but the dose to rat I don't know .the more I didn't do the pre-experiment.
