I am quite new at making any cash on the net and I had a Pay Pal account but there had only ever been a little money in it . I brought the account up to date so my earnings from MY Lot could be deposited in it , They were really good AND very thorough. Yesterday I received an email supposedly from Pay PAL saying someone had tried to gain access to my account gave me a supposedly Pay Pal number and asked me to click on the link and verify my details ,I really don't know why but I just had this funny feeling things went right . I saved it and then I forwarded the full email to Pay Pal . I have just received a reply from them stating that it was a bogus email , so PLEASE PLEASE be careful , If you are asked for details phone or email the company concerned to check , especially if it involves money, xx

Good to know all these things. Let me also add that whenever you make transactions on the net or submit confidential information regarding yourself, alwys check the url and make sure that the http has an "s"
(ex. https://www....)
that is to verify that the site is secured.

I have had that happen a couple of times. I never go withthe link in the email. I always copy and log into my account, send a message to mylot and ask them if they know anything about this. It has always been bogus. Thanks for the email and the reminder to not always believe your emails.

Hi Weemam, well as you know I have been with paypal for near to 6 years now I deal with them all the time regarding my money so if anyone ever receives an email from a bogus email you can always check this by sending an email to paypal with the address as spoof as this way paypal will check it right away for you, plus they never ever ask for your details. Only at their site not in an email.

I believe this is called 'phishing' and it's a scam, you have to put your personal details which they want and you must never do. Usually the email will say dear paypal user, friend and do not give your name when they write to you. Always forward them to Paypal or delete them. They prey on unsuspecting people and they are the lowest of the low. You have to be so vigilant and never let your guard down especially when it comes to your personal details. I was so relieved that you didn't fall for the scam my friend, but I agree sometimes they are so authentic looking!

My hubby warned me of the same weemam, when I opened a pay pal account for the purpose of myLot payment. He told me once the pay pal account is verified (i.e. attached to a bank account) then you will get spam mails stating that personal details need to be verified. Good thing you thought something was fishy and wrote to pay pal. I'm glad my hubby warned me too well in advance. He has a pay pal account since a long time and he has received such mails too.

Plus I ve had to change my password 3 times since I ve had my account ,I think it got worse after I got a web site going saling my crafts , I get some of most stuiped mails ,

It's amazing how common these things are. I have provided a link to the paypal site that explains how to tell a fake paypal email... the other thing I always do is type in paypal.com whenever I want to enter any information.

These types of emails have been circulating in the internet for years.
They could be supposedly from Paypal, e-gold or even from banks.
These are actually phishing emails with the malicious purpose of stealing your account id and password.
One way to detect whether you've received a phishing email is to roll your cursor over the URL link and if you see a strange URL address with lot of junk characters and don't bear the name of the company (eg. paypal,e-gold,citibank etc.) in the URL, it would probably be a phishing email.
In fact, PayPal, e-gold and respectable financial institutes would NEVER ask for your log-in ID and password using email.

Hi weemam,
Even i have heard of this kinds of email. i keep wondering how these people use the email address of great service providers like paypal to send out bogus mails to cheat innocent people like us. I'm very familiar with E bay and paypal, and have never had an issue, beyond bogus solicitations, that I couldn't resolve. What I do wonder and hope someone can clear up, is HOW "this" entire system works. MY paypal Balance is ZERO, but my checking account backs it up as high as $1000.
Do I need to actually show a paypal balance to mylots? Does mylots NOT pay unless I do the suggested $10, $25 or whatever, as a balance in my paypal account?
I'm new here, but only ignorant of mylots, not Life, and wonder too, HOW all this WEALTH is determined, not that I ever want to depend on it. I spend more than I'll ever have at the end, anyway.
Anyone? Any clues to share? I'm not in this for the money anyway. It's a habit/hobby of mine.
