Kids of my own or Adopt? Am I selfish for wanting kids of my own?

I'm twenty-two years old and I plan on having at least three children when I get a little older. I have always loved babysitting and being around kids in general. Wanting children has never been an issue, however wanting my own is. There are so many children out there with no parents who need to reach out to people. And with the way society is today, (murders, gangs, shootings, etc.) I'm not sure if I would want to bring new babies into this world anyway. There ar so many bad things in this world and it seems like things are only getting worse. Why would I want my kids to grow up in an unsafe society? I have been thinking a lot about adopting once I'm married, but at the same time I want my own children. Is it selfish for me to want to bring children into this world with the way it is? And is it selfish for me to want my own kids when there are so many unadopted children in the world??

i dont think its selfish at all. A good suggestion would be to have a child of your own and then adopt one as a brother or sister.
I want my own children but im not sure if i will be able to give birth myself. If it turns out that i cant then i will of course adopt but even if i can have children naturally i will have one or two and then adopt another child or even foster.
