If a really close friend of yours have been having a hard time lately, what would you do to cheer him/her up?

If they are having a hard time they probably need a shoulder to cry on so to speak. I'm not really sure what you had in mind but I would make a pot of tea and have a heart to heart. Is there anything you can do to ease the burden in any way?
Without some more info I'm not sure what else to tell you other than to be there for them. HTH

my friend is pregnant with her 2nd child and her husband left her for another woman. She was devestated. I was living 7 hours drive away from her,(now more like 7 hours flying) and I would send her cards, letters and messages most days and call to check on her. She said she loves the cards I send they maker her feel like she is cared about

any one who is running hard time needs some one to hear his woes. not only listening, but the one who knows the art of listening. if you can convince him that you know that art, that itself will reduce half of his worry. i am glad i have that art.it has really helped my friends come out of their mental agony many times.

First, you will endeavor to find out the reason which caused him to be having hard times. Then, you will help him to map out a good plan to deal with the problem at hand, in order to be able to put an end to it. Next step, will be for you to make sure that he copes with his problem until he finds it solved.
