I was driving to work today and I heard a song on the radio that I haven't heard in forever, a song that came out a couple summers ago, me and my friends used to listen to this all the time. It reminded me of that summer and all the good times we had! It definitly put a smile on my face.
Does that ever happen to you? Hear an old song that reminds you of good times?

yea it has. i have a lot of songs that i heard with my brothers and my band at our childhood summer days and now that we are old, we hear those songs again on the radio and all of a sudden, we start talking about the fun we used to have and remember when we lived at the old house, and how about the times when we laughed or hearts out, and this and that. yea, good thing there was a song that reminded us about a summer before one of our friend passed away. now we have a few songs to remember him.

I really love it when I hear a song from my past on the radio or on the stereo in a car. Hearing these songs seems to have a tendency take me back to a certain time in my life when I was truly happy & where a lot of memories we're created. I know that the songs I end up hearing tend to take me back to my childhood.. And because of hearing these things that remind me of my childhood.. I feel that.. I believe ones childhood is a sacred place where memories are always stored until they are ready to come up again like when a certain song calls upon them.
There is nothing I like better than to hear Bryan Adams on the radio or even Bobbie McFerrin or Tom cochrane. They all remind me of different memories from my childhood or people around me. I love when a certain song can help to take me back to my childhood or a place in my life where there we're nothing but good memories being created.
I know whenever I hear "Life is a highway" By Tom Cochrane. Each time I hear this song it tends to take me back to my days where I lived in Saskatchewan. I remember so many times when my mom would drive us places or when we'd be out in the lake & would have the stereo blaring.. And this song would come on..
Each time I hear this song I think of how happy I was living back there. I sometimes wish I could move back as each time I hear this particular song.. It tends to bring back all of the memories that we're created during my childhood. I love how this song takes me back to the one place during my childhood where I was truly happy.
Also I will hear the song "Don't worry, be happy." And it takes me back to the one time where I was able to see my biological father. Because my mother had custody of me & my sibling.. Each time my Dad would have to take us back to go back to our mom's house.. The song "Don't worry, be happy" for some reason would come on.. And he'd begin singing the words to me while giving me a hug telling me everything was going to be alright.
I can honestly say that this is one good memory I can only remember of my father before the relationship between us was destroyed. When this song plays now that I am a grown adult, I can't help but shed a tear.. But also have a smile appear on my face. I love that this song takes me back to this memory that I had shared with my father.
In conclusion.. I know that when I hear old songs that the same thing does happen to me. Where a certain song will take me back to a point in my life in my past where I was truly happy during that moment or time.. Or where only good memories we're being created with the people whom I love.. Or the people whom I was once close to.
I love that songs enable one to take them back to a point in there life where happiness was surrounding them. I know that sometimes I am having a terrible day & then all of a sudden.. A song from my childhood or from my past where a wonderful memory was created.. Seems to lift my spirits each & every time.. It's amazing how music can truly be a wonderful gift to all of our lives in some way or another! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

Yes, I sometimes happen to listen to an old song that I liked very much and that is connected to old events I lived with my friends.... If the song is not old it puts a smile on my face, I listen to it again with great pleasure, but if the song is very old and reminds me very old events of my life, it puts a sad smile on my face, a smile because I'm always happy to listen to a song I loved, but sad because a lot of years passed and some events can't happen again anymore.

I hear certain old songs and they take me back immediately to the place and time I associate with them. It is a funny memory link, but can make me feel young again.

It happens to me sometimes, and I have some a sudden unexplainable feeling. There are times that such congs make me feel sad, and others make me feel happy.
Sad, because I realized that certains things have changed, and that some of it are not as what I am expecting it to be.
Happy, because I remember the days that me and my friends have shared together. And also those times where I have spend my 'glorious days', when I was still studying..
