How can I write a better song?

I've always enjoyed writing ever since I was a kid, honestly I am good at written exams than oral exams. However, the last song I wrote was last December 2006. I want to write new songs this year but it seems like my ideas are not that great.
Can somebody help me?

they say that ideas come when you are in the lowest or highest point in your life. it's like when something happens, an idea pop up to your head. i suggest also to look around you and get an inspiration, it could be anything, even a dry leaf dropping in a tree. try to get back the feeling that you had on your memorable days. good luck
