I find an aquarium to be very peaceful. I can spend hours just watching the fish. Currently I do not have an aquarium but when I did I had Angel Fish, Guppies, Swordfish, Bettas, and Oscars. In the future I would like to get another aquirium full of salt water fish.

Watching fish swim around an aquarium gives me a feeling of calmness and tranquility. They silently swim around, all the beautiful colours intermingling, and to watch them is quite amusing. Different species swim differently. They dart in and out of the weeds and behind rocks and some sit on the bottom of the tank for ages.
They make me feel a bit sleepy sometimes but watching fish is a great therapy. Brightest Blessings.

I LOVE fish. I wish we had an aquarium. I use to have one years ago, nothing too fancy or big but it was nice anyway. I recently learned that my 19 month old son is apparently scared of fish in a fish tank so it's probably a good thing that we don't have an aquarium. Perhaps someday we will though, fish are so calming to watch!

Well I guess this is NOT a hobby for you, since you put this discussion under the topic "Foods I Enjoy!" I love to dine on fish, too, but we never ate the little ones in our aquarium. Sometimes they ate each other! On the other hand, I have heard of people with houses so large and elegant that they have real streams running through them and could catch their own dinner at home. But I've never seen such a house. Have you?

I had run a discussion topic on this subject and received very many responses. I had one acquarium with 20 fishes. But I found maintenance is time consuming and in this city it is expensive to get good acquarium fishes. There are lots and lots of newer acquarium containers and it is very expensive. Then are some special types of articles that can be installed inside, those things are also expensive. We keep going out of station and there will not be anyone looking after it. My wife does not like to handle fishes.

I haven't got an actual aquarium in the house but I have a little fishbowl that sits on the back of my stove that I watch while I'm cooking. It doesn't have any fish in though. It's got a couple of little floater turtles that a friend of mine bought me a couple of years ago. LOL.
The stepdaughter has a little electric thing with fake fish in the water. When you turn it on, the fish float around. That's kind of neat to watch. LOL.

Having a aquarium is very relaxing. The motion of the fish just makes me feel so calm and content. I have a aquarium but it is on my computer. I kid you not. It is a wallpaper that I use on my computer. I like to come and sit in front of the computer and watch the fish swim across my monitor. I don't have room for a aquarium so this is the next best thing because I do love to watch fish and it does have a calming effect on me.

I have this fish wallpaper, too, and although it is not quite the same as sreal fish, neither do we have to clean our their water and give them little fishy meds and feed them and all that good stuff. Still, with all the work it is, I would absolutely have an aquarium and live fish if it weren't for the fact that we travel a lot and do not want someone else to have to come in and take care of them.

I have 3 one gallon fish bowls with a male betta in each one.I did have a regular fish tank but we moved to another state and the fish began dying off one by one.I only had two betta left plus one i grabbed from a woman who wasn't taking care of it.They are so calming to watch .It didn't matter how stressful I was,I would turn out the lights, put the tank light on and I could feel all my muscles start to relax.I really enjoy my fish and love as I do any animal.I plan on getting several tanks when we move back to my home state
