as per experience, i won't generalize. i had been to relationships where men are really greedy and selfish. my exes won't allow me to go out with my friends thinking that i might find someone new and better than them. won't allow me to go to malls on my own. in short, they won't let me have fun, too. yep. i understand if they are scared that i might find someone new to replace them. but it could have been better if trust had always been in the relationship. the worst thing is that, it's okey for them to have fun with their friends even everyday of their lives. and when you ask them about it and when you complain, it's as if you don't have the right to react on what they have done at all. too selfish!

If I am reading your querry correctly, you are using "man" to mean male & female. In this case, yes we are all selfish. We work hard and dilligently to gain monetary wealth to accumulate "things" that only money can purchase. We are a society that enjoys our "toys" and we are not happy until we have them. Unfortunately, the "toys" bring us slight happiness while we are playing/using them, but it is love, family & friends that bring the true happiness and joy in life. The flip side to this is that yes, we work hard to strive for monetary wealthl but we are also a society that gives back through charities and donations. Just this week, I am donating my time by baking for a Church fund raiser this weekend. True, I don't give back as much as I should, but I give what I can comfortable afford and have the time to do. I try not to be too selfish.
