Worried about giving negative feedback on Ebay

Have any of you had any problems after leaving neagtive feedback for another Ebayer?
I once left negative feedback for someone who refused to pay for my item. I then get a number of nasty emails, he also left negative feedback. Even though I had done nothing wrong.
Then a number of my auctions after that were ruined as people were making false bids or leaving negative feedback.
So I assume that they were his friends.
Has anyone had problems like this?

I don't leave negative feedback for nonpayers. I sell fulltime, and can't take people negging me out of spite in return. I'd just file to get your fees back and give them a strike from now on. You can't have tons of negs from non-payers if you want to sell. You should report him to Ebay, if they find out it was all him they will remove his malicious feedback.

I go along with goth above. Contact Ebay and give them the lowdown on your transaction (send them the code as well)
I had someone buy a vehicle from me and then failed to even contact me. I sent about 4 emails through Ebay to him and got no reply.
Eventually Ebay came back saying they couldn't as well and told me to give him a nagative rating.
It is important to Ebay that the rating system works reasonably well to encourage punters. Ok, there are scammers but generally it is good.
But abusive emails - no way, straight to Ebay.

If you have these problems them you should report them to eBay and put them on your blocked bidders list. You should also report for threatening emails, eBay takes a very dim view of this kind of behaviour

I left negative feedbacks for a seller before. I bought and paid 4 items, 3 good and 1 bad. So I left 3 positive and 1 negative, then the seller replied calling me dishonest. I reported him to Ebay and they said they will make a note on his account. I never buy anything from Ebay again.

Yeah, the eBay feedback system is flawed. I've been nothing but pleasant to everyone I've dealt with, but some people refuse to pay in which case I should leave negative feedback. The flaw is that the bum who didn't pay gets angry and gives me negative feedback even though I had done nothing wrong. I just don't leave negative feedback anymore, no matter what the buyer does.

My friend does a lot of selling in Ebay and some amount of buying. He reads the feedbacks religiously, and not too long ago he had a bid from someone who left negative feedback on another seller's site; saying that the individual was slow in getting the product shipped. So my friend refused to accept the bid from that individual. Power sellers get some negatives mainly because so many people are ridiculous in their requirements. But if someone bids high enough to win a product and fails to pay, there should be negative feedback. Its outrageous that you could be subjected to a blastof it-you're probably right, he probably got firends to blast you in that way. I know I was slightly off the track but its a big deal on both sides.
