What do you rate as the worst thing that you have had to go through in life?

Losing my mother at the age of ten was definately the worst thing that has ever happened to me. And also being robbed at gunpoint. However, losing my mother was far worse.

Losing a family member will always be hard. Especially on the long term. Being robbed I would think was more traumatic than anything else.

To be robbed at gunpoint is so scary. It is a far different experience against losing a mother. I understand why you found it very difficult coping considering how young you were then when you lost your mom.

Yes being robbed at gunpoint or period is not only hard to deal with, but it also has a lasting shock value.

When my son's illness heightened, I was forced to leave my job and farm behind and poured 100% of my time taking care of him. There were two others in college, expenses were running really high yet, my sources of income were forfeited. In due course, the savings I have laboured through the years were getting depleted. Those were among the worst years in our lives ever. May there be no more coming after that.

Yes, but you would have had a worse heart ache if you had placed you keeping your money over the health of your son. And as one buddy told me, "I have lots of kids and maybe one day just one of them will turn out right and take care of me.".

The worse thing I would have to say is having had to live with a physically and mentally abusive person.
