Restrictive. Government is like your parents and they plan everything for you. Well, there is pros and cons to this but I guess quite a number of young people do not like to be controlled. From many conversations with friends, a lot of young people are looking to be posted overseas for work so that they can get away from it all.
Stable. Government has done a fine job in keeping the country and its economics stable.
Comparing the lifestyle in Singapore to other neighbouring countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc., I feel that it is still not that "happening". The neon lights and atmosphere in Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc. is very enticing. Singapore can get a little boring especially at night. I think Singapore is still quite conservative in a certain sense.

Hi,I lived there for some months before we were transferred. It is a lovely place. The best is the transportation, very exact.Clean place, nice and friendly people.Education-wise,it is the best place as I heard from lot of my friends who have stayed there longer than 7 years.
The weather is always humid because it is surrounded by sea all over.It is what you would find in any coastal city. You can find all kids of food there.Groceries are abundant. The best thing I remember is the Kopi(cofee) served in the local kopitiams,it is unparallelled.Eating outside id not very expensive either.

hi! i recently visited singapore and my first impression was ..LIGHTS LIGHTS endless lights in tall buildings. it is a very clean country. Although statistics say that people there are not very friendly they are courteous and respectful of different cultures. they have such amazing (to me...lol)technologies. simply amazing. the food, the people, the shopping malls, the entertainment/tourists attractions, security. i love singapore!

i've live in singapore for like 2 months last summer... my dad is working there and when i was there... i really enjoyed it... its quite different from other asian countries... you'll have a feeling that its somewhat different, in terms of educating young singaporeans, technology... the discipline is amazing as well...
you can leave your laptop in the park, and when you returned it is still there. it is not a scary place to live in.
it is so clean and very organize. i think it helps that it is small because the government can control it effectively. you can enjoy the scenery and tourist spot in 2 days or so...
for me.. the people are quite snob in a way.. but some are very friendly..
hope that helps..

Iam in Singapore for past 8months, its really neat and nice place to live, Singaporeans are peace loving people, they follow rules obediently thats why they can cooperate in keeping their country clean and peaceful, there are great places to visit here, like sentosa, birds park, night safari, ocenarium and countless shopping malls and 62 floors heighted sky scrapers etc,
Here it is always hot but rains frequently, so climate is somewhat moderate through out the year, the facilities provided to the people are up to the mark, here the govt is really "for the people, by the people and of the people" as it works for the welfare of the people and thus attracts many tourists, here the revenue of the govt crosses billions which is used for the development of the country, so the people here live in style.. how about visiting it?

I had studied in Singapore for one year. Citizens of Singapore are mainly from china, malaysia, indonesia, philippines, and india. One thing I dislike of singaporeans is what they call Singlish. It's a kind of broken English with different acsents and pronounciations that you hardly understand and difficult for you to communicate with them. Singapore is called green city and it has many places to attract tourists. There are a lot of shopping centers. I bought cheap quality electronics from there. I really liked sentosa island and international airport of Singapore which is one of the biggest airports in the world.
