I'm shaking but I'm not cold, and I haven't had a large amount of stimulants (ie caffine). Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Shaking comes from nervous conditions. Generally they're temporary, but it does mean some form of irritant. Try some B vitamins, should do the job. Not necessarily anything to worry about. Minor irritations come and go. Just keep track and see if there's anything you eat or do which seems to set it off.

Actually patgalca has the other option; some physical conditions, like a nerve playing up or pressure on nerves, can be persistent, and inconvenient. Some are easily fixed, others need fixing. It might be worth your while, if you're concerned, to get a neurologist to have a look.

I began to have tremors in my hands and legs a couple of years back. I was sent to a neurologist. He had me hold both hands out in front of me. While one was shaking I opened and closed the fist of the other hand. The shaking stopped. He said since it was controllable there was nothing wrong. I will be sitting in church and my legs will start to shake. But then I will totally relax my muscles and the tremors will stop. Try some of these techniques. Maybe they will help.

Shaking could also be caused by acute stress or as a side effect of the medication you have been taking for the flu.

Are you hungry when this happens? It could be you are having low blood sugar which oftens makes you shake like you are cold and you feel dizzy and hungry. If so you need to eat something at once preferably something with carbs and protein like half a meat sandwich andmaybe half of a can of soda not the sugar free can. low blood sugar is often a precedent to diabetes.

Thank you for your response. When I originally made this post, I was very ill, just getting over the flu. Very soon after posting, I figured out that my "cold chills" were jsut another symptom of my mildly severe flu. I will keep your advice in mind if I ever have this problem again!
