I am a stay at home Mom of 4 children and for me to go outside of the home to get a job, would not pay! I would be spending all of my paycheck on child care. I have tried mylot, a couple of other writting programs, West, chacha and do not find myself making any money...
Where can I go or what can I do to find a legitamit work at home job that actually pays? Can anyone help?

I work at home, it pays $8.00 per hour, which isn't bad for working in pjs. I am getting ready to switch to another campaign with my compnay that pays the 8 hr and also has incentives. I can tell you this is legit because i have been doing it for a few months and have gotten my paycheck direct deposit on time everytime.

I will be happy to. The company is Virtuserve. They are and inbound, outbound calling company. Presently, I do inbound calls, but will start doing outbound next week as well. It is not cold-calling, but the inbound is for a campaign whose company uses an auto dialer, so you still get some kind of nasty and sometimes nasty people on the other end when you answer, but that does not bother me, I just say have a nice day and hang up. Inbound is strictly $8 per hour to start
Outbound, you call businesses for the camapign company to set appointments for the "boss" to call them. These companies have already been sent letters from the company and you are following up with them. This pays $8 per hour to start and also $7.50 for every lead you send to the company for call back. This company really appreciates the home agents and there are many incentives to work toward.
Virtuserve is adding 2 more campaigns in march so as far as I know will be needing more home agents.
The agents they hire live in the USA and Canada, pay is weekly and has been on time everytime like I said before.
So far I have sent about 12 people to them and they have all been hired. There is no reward for referring except the one where people are happy to have a home based job. I can send the phone number and Human Resource person's phone number to you if you'd like. I think right now, they really need more for the outbound campaign.

Sorry, I forgot to say, I have looked into West at Home, Alpine Access and Liveops....they are good in a way, but you get paid per minute per call, so if no calls come through, no pay and I believe alpine and liveops have requirements that cost you $30 to $500 to become incorporated, you have to take care of your own taxes, which isnt a problem for me, but I'd rather be making much more if I am going to do that. Virtuserve costs nothing on your part except for the headset you need to buy, which I got at walmart for $25. It is all done on the computer, but you do need high speed internet if you don't already have that.

You can try starting your own business if you sew or do any type crafts that would be an option, writing is always a good option.
You can try babysitting if you feel like that is something you can do with your other children too.
Anyway, I am currently looking for something too, that will pay well enough to pay the bills, I would keep doing anything that I found that did actually pay because every little bit does add up over time.

I am very crafty! I have thought about making money this way, but I just don't have the $$ to go out and buy the supplies to get started! And I feel the same, if I could find something that does pay..I would stick with it!

Have you thought of selling product? You can set up a website, and do it on your own time, with your own schedule. Email me through my profile and we can talk.

I like your style. Yes, I totally agree with you. One can earn more by keeping a presence online. You don't need to work all the time. Managing the website for 3-4 hrs a day is sufficient. Move on with technique...if you wanna become a webmaster.

Hi have you ever thought of Mystery shopping. It would require some work outside of your home. But, many times you can bring your children or schedule jobs for certain times like when your husband is home, or on a day he has off! I used to make 200-300 dollars a week doing these simple jobs. You have to pay for things first sometimes but alot of them cost you nothing! Message me and I will give you a website where you can sign up for companies for free no cost upfront then they email you with jobs close to you! Not a scam I promise I have got ligitimate pay from all of the recommendations I make!

myLot is legitimate....but you need to work hard to carve the gold out of here.
Post discussions, which should be descriptive enough.
Choose a discussion of your interest and go on commenting there on every posts.
A single discussion a day is good normally. If you are a speed typist, then you go deep into more than one discussion.
Just try it and get the result.

I didn't read the other responses (sorry) so these might have been offered but you could try paid surveys. I am with Greenfield online and they DO pay...only many of their surveys are for contest entries only. I have take two surveys worth more than $2. One was for $10 that I took today and one was a few months back that paid $70 for 1 1/2 hour interactive survey.
Can't hurt to have it there!
I am also a rep with Stuff A Friend- a stuffable animal company that is free to sign up with, pays decent commission and is FUN! I have only ordered once and I was SOOO happy with what i got! The owner is great (I think she is a homeschooling mom and she has one other rep company) and everyone is really supportive. The best part was free sign-ups and no investments, sales requirements or anything! And then you can take your kids to work with you. You get to choose how you sell the products. If you ever considered direct sales definately check out this company. Lots of people even do it just for the discount you get!
But definately check out some paid survey sites. Just don't do it if they make you pay.
I am also a Mystery Shopper (that never shops b/c I don't like the offers). All of the companies I am with were completely free to sign up with. (if you can't tell by my constant references to cost, I am a super-cheap person!) You never have to pay them. Check it out at http://www.mymommybiz.com

I have been looking for an at home job for a long time. I still have not found one. What I did find was Mary Kay. I an a new consultaint and I love it. I have not had a party yet but I will say the money is there. It is amazing how much you can make. I have to work around my husbands schedule for parties and meetings but its worth it! I have invested about $300 and my business is ready to go. The cool thing about Mary Kay is you work when its good for you. You can do a lot of the work right from home. And the tax deductions are amazing! I personally don't have a sucess story yet but I have heard sooo many. For example I just heard about this one ... the girl started at 23 she is now 27 and her 1099 form for last years pay was OVER 400,000 dollars yes thats right four hundred thousand dollars! I thought that I didn't know enough people but they say if you know 5 women with skin you will be just fine, and i have to say they are right. I already have 2 parties booked (i started on feb 15th) and one possible new recrute! I see that you live in PA so do I would love to chat with you more about it if you are intrested. I will send you my e-mail through private message and you are welcome to e-mail me and we can chat about this more. please think about it you can go to the mary kay web site and read a little about it yourself... listen to the sucess stories they are really inspiring! I really hope to talk to you soon.

Actually West is a legit job...I enjoyed it! The problem is that it has to be quiet when you are working and with 2 toddlers at home it's really not quiet!

It's westathomeagent.com.....I see what you mean about it being hard with toddlers around. I'll keep working on that training materials then. It's not going to end up making me pay for anything is it?

I'm so glad that you posted this discussion. I completely understand where you are coming from. I am a stay-at-home-mom of three children. And when i did work, my paychecks were going to daycare. and daycare only. There was no getting ahead. I'm glad you made this topic because i need some advice as well. thanks.

I have noticed too if you would like to try this. Work different shifts that what your hubby works. He work one shift and he work another. That way someone is always there to watch the children.
I would only do this if we NEED the money to get by with things. It is hard to do this different shift thing and still keep your relationship with your hubby as pleasent as it was.

Hi! I can sooooo relate to you! In my experience with working from home, I have found that using a *variety of resources when working from home brings in the most income. I am a chacha guide, I keep that running whenever my computer is on, I also write articles for associated content, (You are well written, and if you have'nt looked into it yet, I advise it, message me!) I signed up for a bunch of those referral survey sites, but it looked like it was going nowhere, but after a few months I had a bunch of referrals downline, and I get checks from them once in a while. Amazon Turk mturk.com is good for quick cash, if you are a good typest, they have some transcription jobs for around $3.50 a pop and they list a bunch daily. They have contests too weekly for finding random things, answering questions on the internet. I won $40.00 on my first try(You have to get a rated 'best' for your answer) I hope some of this is 'new'. This is a great thread by the way! Lots of info on this topic here!

There are some great opportunities out there, depending on what you want to do. My husband hates his job and we are working on developing a part-time business at home into a full-time business so he can quit his job. So far it's working out great, and we're hoping that he will be doing our business full-time by the end of the year. We really enjoy it - the flexibility offered is just phenominal! One of the great things is that it's a residual income stream. Message me if you'd like more info.

I am in the same boat too....but I also try to sell my artwork as much as I can, yet have not sold much yet.
I have found if you have to pay a fee to get started- it's a scam. The only legitimate jobs are with actual companies that offer telecommuting. If you have some good skills and a good resume, you may be able to find something. My stepfather works for IBM from home.

Hey! Does IBM do any hiring? What exactly is your step dad doing for IBM? I am certified in Microsoft Office software and I am a certified Paralegal. I have worked as a secretary for over 2 years and have some other qualifications.

Since i dont make enough money online, i have to resort to some home-based business. I am now selling universal loads for cellphone, landline and internet cards which earns good money once one build repuration. I am also planning to make my own liquid detergent which i plan to sell to my neighborhood since it would be much cheaper than the one that they could buy at the supermarket and i could just make about 2 gals very easily and it doesnt take too much time to make. I could also make it just in 2 hours every week. I have other options too which i find very feasible and doesnt require a lot of capital.

I really haven't joined any other sites like this except for this one. I decided not to do Slash My Search because it means downloading their toolbar and making it my homepage, and with my PC being a shared one, I didn't want to put something on the PC that my partner might not like.
If you decide to join up with any of the sites given, maybe you could give us all an update on how things are and whether you actually got paid or not. We always like to hear about new things that work out.
I wish you all the very best.

for slashmysearch I had the same problem as you (shared computer)but I find out that you don't need the toolbar to make money and the homepage can be change anytime! when i finish my session I just put back the blank page...
you only need firefox to use it at his best and a little secret I'll give you if you sign under me:

and contact me of course!
