I was having a discussion with one of my mylot pals and it give me an idea to ask this question? At one time I thought the grass was greener on the other side. Boy! was I wrong! It turned out it was not grass at all. It was weeds. Maybe this will also help my pal.

When we hear the saying that the grass is always greener on the other side, it only signifies how one man is always discontented with what he has got. When he sees that his neighbor seems to be coping well, he immediately thinks that they are doing much better, he must be earning more.
Actually, this is not always true. The neighbor may only seem to be coping well with life because, they know to do appropriate budgeting. The truth could be that he is earning more than what his neighbor does.
I believe the story originated from a long time ago when, the keeper of a flock thought that the grass on the other side of the fence is much greener than where he is, so he took the effort to bring his flock to the other side. Only to find that it was better from where he was.

I get really tickled when I am driving down the road and see a cow, horse or goat with there head through the fence trying to get to that grass. It makes me think of that saying.

exactly! People loose more then they gain just because they think it is greener.

I think we have all thought that one time or another ,only to find out that it isn't..I think when we feel like we are in a rut or bored we just automacticlly think that only to find out that we were better off where we are.

I agree. instead of fixing the problem, he/she will ignore it and move on to other things.

LOL, I also thought that at one time but what I found was yes the grass was greener but it was just growing faster. I think it's human nature to want more or want what the other guy/gal has but in reality we just need to slow down and enjoy what we have been blessed with - I think we would find we have it much better than we thought.
