my friend dumped on me

I had a friend who was really good fun. We were a group of women who were close and shared our innermost thoughts. I was particularly close to one for a couple of years. Then on a whim, this woman turned nasty and slyly turned the other women against me. I am clueless to what I have done. Sound like schoolyard stuff? We are in our 40's. I can't get a straight answer out of the other women. I have no idea what's going on. I just feel so sad that it has come to this. To share our lives so intimately for 4 years on a daily basis to nothing is a really hard adjustment for me to make. I feel so bloody sad.

I am so sorry that this has happened. It is so hard to have something like that happen.
Can't you get one of the other woman to talk to you one on one and find out what is going on?? If that won't work, try writing them a note or letter.

Thank you for replying. I found out one of the women, my closest friend, went and repeated our conversations around to all the members. Things I'd said in confidence. So bloody childish. They seem to have made up their minds with nothing I'd say to change it so alas, as hard as it is, it seems to be time to move on and get over them. I could never run around and tell people what she said cos thats just not my style. I guess you soon find out who your true friends are.
