Do you find breastfeeding in public offending?

Some people react negatively when they see moms nursing their babies in public. Do you find it offensive for a mother to do such a natural thing?
I feel we should be more open to nursing moms tending to their kids in public areas such as malls, parks, restaurants.

I dont think it is offensive a bit , ya it may make the mother feel akward sometimes ,but we must all be considerate that she is doing a noble task....feeding a hungry kid.....

I don't think it's offensive as long as the mother is not exposed. When I had to nurse my daughter anywhere outside our home, I would drape a light cover over us just as a matter of decency. Not every mother is as considerate.

I dont think its offensive at all. A baby has to eat, and they get hungry all the time, not just when your at home. I nursed my son in a resterant, at a public lake, and at my brothers highschool graduation to name a few. I only have one person shoot me nasty looks. Actually she kept stairing at me, finally i asked her if she was thirsty, i had plenty i could get a cup. She took off. But it didnt discourage me. My son had to eat, no matter where we were.
