Hello there!!I am teacher for so many years in high school!!!In my years of teaching, as years passed by, may students, as they became teenager, they became more beautiful for girls , handsome for boys to the point that sometimes, if they are going to be beside or close in sight with their teachers, it seems that they are just having the same age, especially if the teacher is on a civilian mode. In that case, Ive met a lot of teachers who cant control themselves not to fall in love with their students.Sometimes , I am admiring them for being courageous enough to court their student inspite of the fact that they might be dismissed on their job....how about you guys, if you are in that situation, will you do the same?or be just like me....a coward , a frightened person who is clinging on my job but not following what my hearts desire?????

I'm a teacher of English as a second language. I teach university students and adults, and on several ocassions have been tempted by students, and even when they know I'm married they persist in asking you to accompany them somewhere. You must decline.

I am a teacher however I am a mother first. I have two teenagers in high school if I found out a teacher was trying to have anything other than teacher student relationship there would be a lot of trouble. I think children are easily swayed. As adults we should know where the line is and respect it.

yes!I know that fact that studets are easily swayed !We still have that power to control them and we should know our limitations! But according to my co teachers who did that, Someday I will find out how hard it is to control one's feeling whether students or not students, the feelings will be the same!!!I disagree with them but they say I should try it first so that I might know what they are feeling right now!!!So sad, because...they dont see anything wrong about it...

Yes it happens frequently in today's world. The respect to teachers has fallen down so love between student and teacher is commonly seen. It is not fair at all. It is a black spot to this profession. parents send their children school to educate. But if the teacher starts making love with student then what he or she will teach to student, I do not know. This is a pure relation, it should be prevented from love making.

tHANKS for the reply!!!In my experience, my co teacher had a relationship with her student, and every time they are together, they are always the center of attraction , topic and discussion of the students!!Though they are not minding them, I know it affects his teaching specially on the class where the girls belongs!!I remember, the girl talk to me that her classmates doesnt believe her high grade in his subject and her classmates just thought that reason for this is because the teacher is the bf of the girl....

i dont think its a matter of fear for me, but every relationship has its importance, a teacher student relationship is really a relation of respect, i dont think personal feelings should be involved in these kind of relationships

Yes!!Respect is what we need!!That is the thing that I am afraid of if I get into student-teacher relationship!!!How ca you ask for a respect from your students if they see that what you are not doing is not correct!!!A teacher should be a model , right? Thanks 4 the reply and God bless

it really matters when you fall in love with a student especially because you would be a partial teacher and your job would be on the line. I think it would be too bad to court when you are the teacher, it's like you are taking the chance since she/he is under you.

That is the thing that comes in my mind always, THEY MIGHT THINK(my class and the school community) that i am taking chance on her!!!They might think I use my authority in winning her love!!!!Besides that, what are you going to gain if you lose your lifetime job(teaching), if you win her love and you are not that sure if she's the one who is the right girl for marriage...she might change as time passed by, right?

I agree that it is not right to fall in love with a student, beyond the legal implications (people go to jail for that stuff). This is my first year teaching high school, and I am 23. The male students hit on me pretty often. Just today one boy asked me "when we were going to have our date", and I simply responded "Sometime between now and never". This is not the first time that he has made a comment like that. The way that I deal with this problem is to remember, they are still maturing. Most of my students are between 14-18, since I teach foreign language. That means that some of them are only 5 years younger than me, but the life experiences are missing. As long as you remember that they are still kids, the issue of "falling in love" with a student should never arise.

Most of time, high school girls teased on me also to some of their classmates!!!But I thanks God that I never gave myself a chance in falling or courting or trying to play that kind of words to me!!!Just like you, my co teachers, also from 23-25 ages, just ignore those students that are trying to court them in one good reason....they are too young and they still on the stage of adoring people wherein they taught plays a big part and good role model in thier life!!!Thanks for the message
