I feel that the movies don't do justice to the books. The books are so descriptive and magical - and a movie just doesn't capture the full essence behind it. I found the movies to shorten or completely eliminate certain scenes which would be essential to the viewer - especially if they've read the book.
I was a bit disappointed after watching the movies - especially Prisoner of Azkaban ... so many main parts of the book were eliminated.
The books - I can keep on reading over and over ! :)

Hi same feeling, I read read a lot HP. When compared we can never find that interesting explanation in movies. I feel they have spoiled the novel's beauty.
Rowlings is best. They way she describes every thing. Intelligently vowen plots. Relationships also greatly explained by her.
The movies really swallow everything. All the important scenes are missed. All important characters, my god, they just skip like that.

I like harry potter. I like it all. I wish they had chosen a different actor for the role of harry potter and that they hadnt changed the characters ways and feelings as are portrayed in the book. But i like the way they have filmed it and some of the actors that they chose were brilliant. Like The role of Severus Snape, Played by Alan rickman. His character is brilliant. And i do love Emma thomspon in Harry potter too.

It's always like that. All of the movie stories that came from books are boring to you if you read the book. But for those who are not fond of reading books, they love watching the movies because of it's effects. If you have very active imagination while reading, for sure you prefer reading that watching the movie. You see, it depends upon your lifestyle or hobby.
