Brett lee has been a key player for the aussies for a long time and his absence means change of their world cup plans. Surely it'll be a bit of setback but they've got good fast bowlers like mcgrath, mitchell johnson and nathan bracken. Definitely they would have preferred lee over the youngsters considering that the recent matches they lost have been due to bad performances from the youngsters. Apart from Mcgrath others haven't looked that good so it'll be a challenge for australia to keep their winning streak in the world cup and it will all depend on how thier youngsters perform in tense situations of the world cup.

Sure it will be a setback that would make the aussies change their plans for the world cup. But Australia have not been number 1 for so long just like that, they have good enough players waiting in the wings to perform. Their domestic cricket is so strong and so well organized that any player comes out from it and performs straightaway. Maybe it'll take time to fill the shoes of warne, mcgrath and lee but with experience surely they will do that. Though Lee's exclusion is a setback but others like johnson, stuart clark and bracken are good too and they have the ability to pose problems for any teams. With time we will find out if these new guys can tackle the pressure of the world cup.

i surely do think that it definately will be a set back for OZ's as they are misssing Warne and Mcgrath is not such a good form either,,, their part time spinner Symonds is unlikely to join them before end matches and also that they are struggling with their bowling form

yes his absence what the definitely affect the performance of the Australian team. No matter how many good players you have not experienced end while performing players like him are very essential for the team he is always a very lethal bowler for the Australian team and I think they are trying their best to pick him for the World Cup squad. But if it is not possible that they would definitely not play him because they fall hundred per cent fit players to meet their standards.

Not at all a major set back 4 a proffessional team like Austraila. They had gone through a similar crisis 4 yrs ago in the World Cup, still they were the Champions.
I think they will win the World Cup 2007 and earn a hatrick that no team has ever achieved.
