How do you deal with friends who tend to push you to do mean things?

I've got friends who tend to urge me to follow or take part in their mean and inane activities like making fun at somebody or yelling and calling funny names at some people. I just ignore them and leave them in their activity. I don't ask them to stop from doing those things since it seems that they enjoy what they're doing. As for me, my motto in friendship is that a friend can never be a friend unless he helps you grow as a person. In the above mentioned case, I don't think they're really my friends and I just can't imagine how I came to be their friends in the first place. If all my friends would be acting and doing those same things, then I'd prefer not to have friends at all and live my life on my own. I could be alone but never will I become lonely.

Well I think you have answered your own question there my friend!! These people that want you to do bad things are not real friends at all and as you say, it is better to be on ones own than to have friends like these. They are people you know - not friends. Someone as thoughtful as you should be able to find people who can become real true friends. Good for you for not following the crowd!

I have a friend that is mean like that. Those are the ones that I enjoy the most. They teach me how NOT to be. You can influence these friends by choosing to do the opposite of whatever they are doing.
This friend has come a long way, just by watching me. We have to let our light shine in this darken world. No, I am not perfect, but I have a perfect heart toward God and I want to please him in every way. This is what is important.
Remember when they gave Jesus a hard time for sitting with the publicans and sinners and Jesus said that the sick are the ones that need a physician. Also, remember that Jesus referred to Judas as is friend.

what kinds of friends they are? who are they??
it seems all your friends are like those in your case...well, in your life, friends are part of it...
Not all of your friends are like that, maybe the reason they do that is just they are happy at that time and they enjoy what they are doing...not all the times your friends are like that of yours...we don't know what's in there heart...so better not to be judgemental...like me, i usually make fun coz i want people around me to be happy.. i couldn't be alone coz i can't live without those people around me....
