I do not speak any French but would love to visit sometime. Does anyone have any advice?

You dont have to worry about a thing! I mean if you want i am sure u can go to borders and find learning french for dummies. I currently own almost all thoe books for dummies...there great! I've myself never been to france but I hear its a wonderful place! hope you enjoy it if you go.

Sure. You really don't have to speak french to visit a place that speaks french. There are so many people bilingual these days that you really don't need to speak the language to travel. Some basic terms would be nice for courtesy like please and thank you. S'il vous plait and merci. They will appreciate you knowing that. Good luck on your travels! I hope to read all about it one day!

i think it's good to learn another language besides your own but you don't really have to just because you intend to visit a french speaking place. i suggest you get one of those tourist books. there are a lot of tourist books that teach you basic phrases that you'll need to know when you visit the place. plus they have information on the culture and norms of the place. you can use it as a tour guide too since most of these have information on the different places you should visit. plus learning a language really takes time. french in particular is a complicated language. i've been trying to learn it for two years and i'm still not fluent. probably because french isn't really a popular language here in my county so there's no one to practice it with.
