I think that when a girl turns 16, she should be allowed to date. But parents say no they want their child to get out of high school first. How can u have a relationship with someone if you can't date?

well i have a daughter and i would let her go on group dates when she is 12 cuz where i am from even kids who are 5 years old are allowed to walk the streets alone. of course i don't do that. i would prefer she wait til she 18 to date..but we both know it aint gonna happen. so when she is 12 if she wanna go to the movies with a lil boy that i know and some other friends then thats okay..14 she can go on dates alone as along as i know and approve of where and who she is with

Dating readiness is not based on how many years you have lived, but on your ability to get along with other young people. Social development as well as physical development determine when you are ready to date...

it depends on the country. There are countries where people start dating at 14-5 and countries where people start at 20-1. Also depends on the person. Its a personal choice. I think the best age is around 18. Parents are always right, listen to them kids, they do it for your good. If they think you shouldnt date yet may be they have a reason. I also think that the young people should date only when they are in love with someone. I dont like chaotic relationships that teenagers have now. I know some girls around 18 that had 10 boyfriends... Thats very chaotic.
